New album by gilli moon, “The Stillness" http://www.gillimoon.com/music
"Her music paints a picture of hope, a picture of inner strength"
""the stillness" represents a grown-up woman, able to share her thoughts about life, society and how to survive them. Gilli Moon’s got charming innocence and independence written all over her. Albeit a safe area for many singer/songwriters, Moon shines out the most on her ballads. Opener ‘Conversation with Me’ and ‘Secret of my Heart’ for instance, shows Moon’s charm on top of her game. At times as innocent as a Disney film, at other times more Shakira goes pop music, Moon’s voice is the main factor on this album. Lyrically, she’s ambitious in that she wants to lift people up with her social observations….her voice makes the journey of listening to her life completely worth it."
ALTMUSIC
...It is the lyrics to these pieces of her inner soul that take this project to a higher level From the first note.... screaming for a top ten chart position. Her music reminds me of a cross between Alanis Morissette and Carole King. Very much like her visual artistry, her music also paints a picture of hope, a picture of inner strength. She is indeed a warrior!"
THE JERSEY SHORE
"gilli creates a sound of her own with her powerful voice providing uplifting and catchy melodies interspersed with morose and soulful tunes. "the stillness" takes the listener on a journey through Gilli's love stories, life lessons and observations of the world. Love it or not, you can't help but admire it."
MY DAD ROCKS (UK)
"This love shines through on Gilli’s latest release "the stillness". Structurally the song writing is consistent with the premise of the prose; soft whispers of new age trance building to progressive rock finales.....ebbing between frenzy and stillness; .....I felt the lyrics were particularly strong on Silent Prophet and a good example of what to expect from "the stillness" as a whole."
ALL ACCESS MAGAZINE
"Australian, Hollywood-based singer-songwriter gilli moon, has not only created a masterpiece of an album but she has tapped into an unsurpassed level of greatness on her 6th release. Prepare to enter the stillness of gilli moon, where the only thing moved is the listener... Life is like a drug for gilli moon, and the passion that courses through the veins of ‘the stillness’ is the same life-blood that created the pyramids, brought humankind to outer-space and fathomed individual expression through the arts. Simply stated, Ms. moon has tapped into Maya, and is here to share it with all who are open and receptive.”

gilli moon's 6th album, "the stillness" was a lot of fun to make. Step inside the studio in Burbank, California, to witness gilli moon and her players (Andy Catt on bass, Shawn Cunnane on guitar, Frank Musarra on drums, Little Sista on backing vocals and Matt Thorne, co-producer, engineer and bass) record the songs for her album. It's intimate, it's real, it's musical, it's raw.

REVIEW just in from My Dad Rocks UK
gilli moon is an Multi-talented Australian singer/songwriter now based in Hollywood. In fact the term Poly-media has been attributed to her as she is not just a pianist, songwriter and singer, but also a visual artist, painter, and author. She has twice won the Best Solo Artist at the L.A Rock City Music Awards and honoured with the “Outstanding Contribution as an Artist” award by the Artists For A Better World and her 6th album "the stillness" is now released. Being compared to Alanis Morrisette can be a double edged sword but on "the stillness" she creates a sound of her own with her powerful voice providing uplifting and catchy melodies interspersed with morose and soulful tunes. "the stillness" takes the listener on a journey through Gilli's love stories, life lessons and observations of the world. Love it or not, you can't help but admire it.
Assisting Gilli are:- Andy Catt - bass, Shawn Cunnane - guitar, Frank Musarra - drums, Voyce McGinley - drums, Amy Lou - percussion, J.Walker - spoken word.

the stillness, by gilli moon - on iTunes. Yippee
This album is elegant. It's sophisticated. It's revealing of the human heart. Once again, like all of gilli moon's concept albums, she takes us on a journey: this time, to her inner peace, inner quiet, silence and, importantly, self-connection, amongst a tumultuous, roller coaster world that we live in. It defines her idea of being the master of your own destiny, and the ability to stay connected to your higher purpose, no matter the circumstances, outside forces or influences: the calm within a storm; being centered amongst chaos. The artwork of the album is definitive of this dichotomy, art that gilli designed, being also a visual artist. On the front cover, gilli sleeps, inside the turmoil of her evocative paint. The back cover, on the other hand, has her eyes open, confident, and revealing. She stands convinced, amongst the blaze, amongst the spinning, still, appealing and transformed, like Isis in Ancient Greece, or Matreya, goddess of women. Ultimately, gilli moon's new album, the stillness, takes the listener on a journey through gilli's love stories, life lessons and observations of the world, with her own stamp on musicality and performance. There is nothing like gilli moon. You can't put her in a box, and she doesn't intend to be in one.

BRAND NEW MUSIC VIDEO
We just wrapped up editing a brand new music video. #1 music video for gilli moon’s 2010 (6th) album, “the stillness” this music video is for the song featured on the album, “Days In November”. Performed and shot in South Park Colorado (by David Harvey) while performing at a festival out there with her band mates Andy Catt and Shawn Cunnane, as well as landscapes from the tour bus going through Fargo, North Dakota, and through the Canadian Rockies, when Ms. Moon was on tour with Eric Idle (Monty Python) a few years back, the footage is now all bundled up in a tight music video edited by Matt Thorne. The video is about life on the road, especially as a touring artist, going from one town to the next, and "sending back postcards of lessons" one finds along the way. It's also about love, and dreaming of a time of joy and wanting to find that again. This song speaks of enjoying the journey, and looking towards tomorrow as a time of hope for all of us. The video uses the seasons (especially Fall/Winter) and the countryside, particularly gilli moon's new love for the US and Canadian landscapes that she has travelled many times now on tour. Shots from the tour bus, or beside the road emphasizes "the journey" and the very fact that in life.... we are always moving..... . Mark's debut album, Journey Worship, is produced and arranged by gilli moon, and we enjoyed having Mark out from Norfolk, Nebraska, to record his album here in Burbank at MT Studios. His first album called Journey Worship explores adult contemporary Christian themes and world music and is released April 2010.

MAGAZINE GAP RETURNS FOR ONE NIGHT ONLY!
LOS ANGELES, CA: Magazine Gap returns to Los Angeles, performing on the same stage of their extremely well received US performance last summer. Since forming in 2009, this rich sounding
band from London, UK have performed and recorded new songs in London, New York, Houston, New Orleans, Chicago and Los Angeles (including at Capitol Studios in Hollywood). The band takes their audience on a musical journey, assisted by being made-up of 5 different musicians with differing backgrounds – with acclaimed singer/songwriter James Keen on lead vocals whose voice is
frequently compared to Tracy Chapman. MG's music is perhaps best described as “eclectic pop/rock”, but combines many popular genres including: blues, jazz, country, folk, R&B, funk, soul, with occasional Latin and African rhythms.
As Gilli Moon, Producer of the Art Of Men Cd (Warrior Girl Music) which the band is featured on, wrote last August of their Art Of Men launch performance: “Finally, the last act of the night was Magazine Gap. Wow. What a voice. What a groove. What songs. James Keen is the next artist to watch. People were coming up to me and saying, literally, “I feel like I’ve just seen the next Sting”. Another person said to me “I feel like I’m witnessing the launch of the Beatles”. Another said to me “I feel so privileged to be seeing the rise of a new Dave Matthews Band”. I mean, these guys are going to be big. People who were tired and were going to leave after the first song, sat with their jaws dropped until James’ very last song and note”
Come see why the band are making waves on both sides of the Atlantic...
